ABOUT US
The European Law Students’ Association (ELSA) is an international, independent, non-political, non-profit making organisation run by and for students and recent graduates, who are interested in achieving academic and personal excellence in addition to their legal or law-related studies at university.
THE ELSA NETWORK
ELSA (The European Law Students’ Association) is an association of law students founded in 1981 in Vienna by a group of four students, divided by the Berlin Wall but united by the study of law. Since then, the association has grown exponentially and expanded its business, being currently represented in more than 300 universities in a universe of 42 countries.
The ELSA network consists of 50 000 law students and young lawyers. All law students and young lawyers can become members of ELSA. To do so, just contact your local group.
OUR PURPOSE
In our local ELSA group, we believe that the academic journey is enriched when we walk together, sharing knowledge, experiences and emotional support. In this spirit of unity, we promote an inclusive and welcoming environment, where each member feels valued and respected.
In addition to striving for excellence in our academic activities, we are also dedicated to cultivating meaningful personal relationships. Through social events, cultural activities and convivial moments, we strengthen the bonds between our members, building a true family within the Catholic University of Porto.
Our mission goes beyond the classroom. We are committed to supporting each other, offering support in times of difficulty and celebrating our achievements together. We believe that, together, we are stronger and capable of facing the challenges that the future holds for us.
Join us and be part of this unique family at the UCP Porto. Get ready to find not just colleagues, but friends ready to support you at every step of your academic and professional journey.
